vitlana Novgorodska-Kucherenko was born in 1963 in the city of Dushanbe in Tadzhikistan. She studied at the Dnipropetrovsk Art School from 1979 to 1983. Her works are founded on the spirit of beauty and song of the Ukrainian people in rhythmic, richly static compositions.

Her paintings caress the eye with their lyricality and warmth; they instill nostalgia for the Ukrainian past-both actual and mythical so masterfully exalted by writers and artists of the 19-century.

The artist draws her inspiration from the eternal springs of the people`s creative work. She has participated in art exhibits throughout Ukraine as well as beyond its borders.Her works hang in the collections of those who esteem Ukrainian culture in America,Canada,Germany, and Japan.
